PADI Dive Centre based at Littlehampton Marina, West Sussex.
All courses require a completed PADI Diving Medical Statement which is part of the registration which comes with the eLearning. The participant must answer all the questions with ‘Yes’ or ‘No’. If any questions have a ‘Yes’ answer, then a signature from a physician on the back of the form is likely to confirm the participant is fit to dive. If this is not done prior to attending the course the participant will NOT BE ABLE TO DIVE until they have received a signed medical statement as directed on the form. A rescheduling fee of 50% of the course cost for confined water sessions and 100% for open water sessions will be charged to cover the additional costs incurred.
Kit Rental - by renting kit from Abyss Scuba School, you have confirmed that you are eligible to dive using said equipment. Equipment must be returned in the same condition as it was given, including air in cylinders. If cylinders are not returned filled, you will be charged the rate listed on the website for the fill.
All equipment is maintained and serviced to a high standard but all usage is at the customer’s risk. Abyss Scuba School accepts no liability for harm or injury whilst using the equipment.
If you have hired a wet suit from us then we will do our best to provide you with the best fitting suit possible.
Unfortunately, school wet suits will never fit as well as having your own.
Booking - To book a course we require full payment in advance unless an alternative payment scheme is agreed in advance in writing. Once booked the course is refundable up to 14 days following purchase ONLY if the eLearning has not been accessed. If dates need to be rearranged for the practical aspects of the course, we require at least 7 business days’ notice. If more than 7 business days’ notice is supplied we will be happy to change the course to an alternative date but this is subject to availability and must be within 12 months of your original course dates.
Business days are Monday to Friday (excluding bank holidays).
Less than 7 business days’ notice will incur the following charges:
Pool:
7+ working days: No charge
3 – 6 working days: £25
<2 working days: £50
No show - Cost of confined water aspect of the course
For a Discover Scuba Diving or Children’s pool session:
7+ working days: No charge
3 – 6 working days: £10
<2 working days: £25
No show: - Cost of the course
Open Water:
7+ working days: No charge
3 – 6 working days: £75
<2 working days: £150
No show - Cost of the open water aspect of the course
Medical Cancellation:
If you are prevented from attending due to illness, then we will refund the cost of the course less a £25 administration charge and the cost of the eLearning as per the PADI website, provided more than 2 working days’ notice is provided and you are unable to complete your course within 6 months.
Failure to arrive within 15 minutes of the start of your course may result in the cancellation of your course.
Passing a course - To pass a dive course you must meet all of the standards as laid out by PADI in the course requirements. Your instructor determines whether you have met the requirements and can advise that you may need to return for additional training. Additional training may be chargeable depending on the course.
Prerequisites - There is a minimum age and prerequisites for all courses, these can be found on the corresponding course pages found on the website under “PADI Courses”. It is your responsibility to ensure you are able to meet the prerequisites.
Equipment Servicing – Terms & Conditions
Service Scope
Servicing includes the complete disassembly, inspection, ultrasonic cleaning, and reassembly of your equipment using genuine manufacturer service kits.
The standard service fee for regulators includes up to two hours of labour, a full ultrasonic clean, and the installation of new parts provided in the service kit.
BCD servicing includes a full inspection, cleaning of inflator and dump valves, antibacterial bladder clean, and reassembly using genuine service parts.
Additional services or parts outside of the standard service scope will incur extra charges, subject to customer approval before any work is carried out.
Eligibility for Servicing
Equipment must be serviced regularly according to manufacturer guidelines to qualify for the standard service fee.
Regulators and BCDs that have not been serviced in line with these guidelines, or which show signs of significant neglect, may require additional work and costs.
Pricing
Regulator servicing: £195 for a standard set (1 first stage, 2 second stages, and an SPG if applicable).
BCD servicing: £70.
Prices include labour and genuine manufacturer service kits but exclude additional parts or repairs not covered by the standard service kit.
Additional Costs
Any extra parts or labour required will be quoted before work begins.
No additional charges will be applied without prior customer consent.
Warranty
All serviced equipment is tested for functionality and returned in full working order.
Servicing is carried out by Southern Cylinders, an approved third-party service centre.
Any warranty on workmanship lies with Southern Cylinders. Abyss Scuba School will assist in liaising with them to resolve issues but cannot be held liable for their work.
This does not cover issues arising from misuse, neglect, or improper maintenance post-service.
Customer Responsibilities
Customers must provide accurate information about the equipment’s service history and report any known issues.
Equipment must be dropped off and collected from Abyss Scuba School, or couriered at the customer’s expense.
Abyss Scuba School acts solely as a booking and drop-off service.
Turnaround Time
Standard servicing is typically completed within 7–10 business days but can take up to 4 weeks depending on manufacturer service kit availability and workshop workload.
Customers will be informed of any significant delays.
Liability
Abyss Scuba School is not liable for damages, delays, or faults arising during the servicing process.
All liability for workmanship, replacement parts, or faults lies with Southern Cylinders.
Abyss Scuba School will act in good faith to assist in resolving any disputes but cannot accept responsibility on behalf of the service centre.
Agreement
By booking a service, customers acknowledge and agree that:
Servicing is carried out by Southern Cylinders, a third-party service centre.
Abyss Scuba School acts only as a booking and drop-off service.
Any liability or warranty claims must be directed to Southern Cylinders.

Delivery
Most products are dispatched directly from our suppliers, which may affect delivery times.
Standard delivery is approximately 14 working days, though this may vary depending on stock availability and supplier processing times.
We will notify you if there are any significant delays with your order.
Returns & Refunds
Returns are accepted only for items that arrive damaged or faulty. A full refund or replacement will be offered once the item is returned and assessed.
You must notify us of any damage within 48 hours of receiving the item and provide photographic evidence.
Return postage costs are the responsibility of the customer unless the return is due to an error on our part.
We do not accept returns for unwanted items, including change of mind or incorrect sizing, so please check product details carefully before purchasing.
Warranty
All warranties are provided directly by the manufacturer, not Abyss Scuba School CIC.
If you experience an issue with a product under warranty, we will assist you in contacting the manufacturer, but the responsibility for warranty claims lies with them.
