£350 per person

Develop practical workplace first-aid skills with the Emergency First Response First Aid at Work (Great Britain) course at Abyss Scuba School. Learn how to assess an incident, provide initial care and support someone who becomes injured or unwell while waiting for emergency services.

Designed for people preparing to become workplace first aiders, this course combines clear explanations, practical activities and assessment. No previous first-aid qualification or diving experience is needed.

Course Highlights

What You’ll Learn

Learn how to assess an incident, summon help and provide appropriate initial care. Topics include CPR, using an automated external defibrillator (AED), choking, serious bleeding, shock and caring for an unresponsive casualty.

You’ll also explore injuries and illnesses such as burns, fractures, heart attack, stroke and asthma. Develop an understanding of workplace first-aid responsibilities, including preventing cross-infection, using first-aid equipment and recording incidents.

Practical Training

Build your skills through demonstrations, guided practice and realistic scenarios with your EFR instructor. Practise using training equipment and applying your knowledge to situations that workplace first aiders may encounter.

Your instructor will assess your knowledge and practical skills against the course requirements. There will be opportunities to ask questions and practise during training.

On Completion

After successfully completing the required training and assessments, you’ll receive your EFR First Aid at Work certificate, valid for three years.

Annual refresher training is strongly recommended to help maintain your skills. Complete the appropriate requalification training before your certificate expires to maintain your workplace first-aid qualification.
