Help your child develop their scuba skills with PADI Seal Team at Abyss Scuba School. Designed for children aged eight and above, this structured introduction takes place in our private heated indoor pool at Littlehampton Marina, West Sussex.
With clear explanations and support from our PADI professionals, children learn through practical activities and underwater missions.
Course Prerequisites
Minimum age: 8 years
No previous scuba diving experience required
Basic swimming skills and confidence in the water
Complete the required medical screening before taking part
Parent or guardian consent required
Course Details
Session length: 45 minutes
Format: Five sessions, held fortnightly
Seal Team gives children opportunities to practise regularly and become more familiar with scuba equipment. Our heated pool provides a comfortable learning environment, while the viewing window allows parents and carers to watch their progress.
Children can join Seal Team directly; completing Bubblemaker first is optional.
What to Expect
Each session begins with an explanation of the planned activities before children practise their skills through supervised AquaMissions.
The first five AquaMissions introduce breathing underwater, clearing a mask, recovering a regulator and controlling buoyancy. Games and practical activities help children put these skills into practice.
Children earn PADI Seal Team recognition after successfully completing the required AquaMissions and skills.

What Happens Next?
Children who complete Seal Team can continue with Master Seal Team from age eight, exploring new activities through speciality AquaMissions.
Seal Team is a pool-based programme and does not qualify children to dive independently in open water.
